The two main criteria which makes an article eligible for open access funds under British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, RCUK/UKRI or Wellcome Trust block grants are:
- The paper must acknowledge a relevant research grant, stating the funder and grant number.
- The corresponding author's affiliation must be to the University of Cambridge.
The Open Access Team may decide, on a case-by-case basis, to pay open access fees for corresponding authors at other UK institutions, or where the corresponding author is overseas. Please note that in cases where a 'fully open access' journals has been chosen (as there is automatically an open access fee to be paid, regardless of funders' open access requirements) we always expect payment to be sought from the corresponding author's institution.
Please see our website for further information on accessing financial support via the block grants.
