My journal asks me to sign a copyright agreement or commit to an Open Access option on submission, not acceptance. Can I get in touch earlier?

If a journal insists that you make a decision about Open Access before acceptance please get in touch and let us know:

• The journal or conference name
• What type of paper it is (e.g. article, letter, review, etc.)
• The corresponding author's institutional affiliation
• Any funding acknowledgements made in the manuscript

We will then be in a position to make an in principle decision, although we reserve the right to alter this decision once your manuscript is finally accepted for publication.

When your manuscript is accepted for publication you should still follow the normal procedure: upload the accepted manuscript to us via Symplectic Elements as soon as possible, taking care to indicate any source of funding acknowledged in the paper. If we have agreed to pay Open Access fees then we will provide more details once we receive your accepted manuscript.
