There may be. If you select the wrong Open Access licence, or do not select Open Access at all then your paper might not be compliant with your funder requirements and you may not eligible for funds from the University's block grants from British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, RCUK, or Wellcome Trust.
Some publishers (and funders) will allow you to change options retrospectively if you make a mistake, but this isn’t always the case. The best thing to do is to make sure you get our advice before signing any agreements or selecting any Open Access option from your publisher.
